Is qpkg suppose to generate crapletters if redirected (suppose that it
have with the colorsettings of the text to do)?? I haveto extrace
packagename version and release information of installed packages on the
systems.
I think its weird that that functionality isnt included in emerge like(rpm
-qa ) in rpm-based systems, but maybe its planned to be integrated in the
future?
root@mygentoo#>qpkg -I -v
^[[0;01msys-kernel/^[[36;01mlinux-headers-2.4.21-r1 *^[[0;0m
^[[0;01msys-kernel/^[[36;01mgenkernel-3.0.2c *^[[0;0m
Best regards Andreas

qpkg -I -v -nc is your friend

I use app-portage/epm for exactly that purpose (having come from a long time
living with RedHat) with good results.
