The tree is definetly in a good state for the cleanups I did, but I
think an rsync update happened in the middle of my work, so things
appear borked.

If you want a fast workaround, just delete the dev-php/php-cvs directory
on your machines.

speaking of which, are there thoughts for adding php5 ebuilds? Even as a 
masked build would be useful ( read: i don't want to go through the 
hassle of building w/ apache myself on my test box )

They've been in the tree for a few weeks already, masked via KEYWORDS
until we're ready to put them out in ~arch (coming really soon...).

dev-php/php-5*
dev-php/mod_php-5*
dev-php/php-cgi-5*

great,  thanks. Good to see it's coming in the pipe. I have tended to 
avoid messing around with MASKED builds, i prefer to let qa happen first!
