I build a stage2 LiveCD, when I boot-up from it all goes well untill the
system begans to execute boon runlevel scripts...
There's no /etc/runlevels dir on my livecd...
I inspect catalyst temporal build directories trying to find what happens...:
in /var/tmp/catalyst/tmp/default/stage1-x86-... theres /etc/runlevels
but in
/var/tmp/catalyst/tmp/default/stage2-x86-... and stage3-x86, livecd-stage1...,
livecd-stage2... there's not /etc/runlevels
also if I untar-zip my stage1-x86-...tar.bz2 file there's not /etc/runlevels
there ...
What could be happen here ?
Thanks !

What stage3 were you using? Your own, or one of the official ones? Also,
what version of baselayout?

One of the official ones. 2004.1
I solved the run levels problem but I have another one when I build stage2
tarball:
>>> Downloading ftp://gentoo.mirrored.ca/distfiles/gnuconfig-20040214.tar.bz2
/usr/bin/wget: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.6: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory
The version of libssl that I have in my stage1 is 0.9.7 and there's no any
soft link libssl.so.0.9.6 generated in /usr/lib...
How can I solve It ?

Make an ebuild of your splash theme and put it in your snapshot...
emerge the ebuild in livecd-stage1... then set livecd/bootsplash in
livecd-stage2 to your splash theme... finis

I solve it, but I'm not sure about what was the problem. I remove
entire /var/tmp/catalyst directory and build all again with other snapshoot,
downloaded from a mirror.
I thing that the problem is with my generated ScreenShot.
Now I have another little question.
Which is the best way to customize the bootsplash ?
Thanks a lot!
