Where is the benefit here? If you don't provide a src_compile() in your ebuild, Portage supplies one f= or=20 you. I haven't looked at it recently, but if it doesn't run configure and= =20 make install, I'm sure it could be made to. Maintainers are evil, so let's get rid of them. But you're not going to ge= t=20 ebuilds debugged, packages bumped, etc etc without someone doing the work. = =20 So you end up becoming the maintainer. Back to square one. It's exactly the same vicious cycle of reasoning that contractors have with= =20 their agents-are-scum-let's-get-rid-of-agents desire ;-) Best regards, Stu =2D-=20 Stuart Herbert stuart@gentoo.o= rg Gentoo Developer http://www.gentoo.or= g/ http://stu.gnqs.org/diar= y/ GnuPG key id# F9AFC57C available from http://pgp.mit.edu Key fingerprint =3D 31FB 50D4 1F88 E227 F319 C549 0C2F 80BA F9AF C57C =2D- --Boundary-02=_71nrAyHqDkdDWKN Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Description: signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBArn17DC+AuvmvxXwRAsvwAKCGCnwTM4JwS6uNGLWg7F0VmTqm5gCZAVRy IGo+Ky6XmIDiw872Xn9lSuQ= =5aFn -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Boundary-02=_71nrAyHqDkdDWKN--
