We've got a new developer joining to help out the app-sci and dev-tools
herds. He hails from Dusseldorf, Germany, but bounces back and forth
between there and Vienna, from what I understand.

Looks like nerdboy and rac have found a good dev, since he's got a good
background in various programming languages dating as far back as 1984
when he started programming in assembly on his C=64 (go Commodore!).
He's been using Linux since 1993 and saw the light (Gentoo) in 2003.

He gets to join the ranks of the "older" folk associated with Gentoo
(which includes me), considering he'll be hitting his 30th birthday in
November. Anybody want to donate a walker for this old guy? ;-)

Anyway, everybody welcome Thomas to the team!

OK OK now let's be nice. There are more "older" folk on this list than you think.
I've be programming since 1980. Started out on a Plato shared system and been using Gentoo since 2001.
Normally, when you hit the 30th, a walker is not needed. May be some vitamins or Geritol. Hold on to the walker idea until he reaches the 40th or so.

OH.. BTW.. I got to see Neil Amrstrong walk on the Moon (on Black & White TV)!

Some resellers seem to allude that you need Viagra as well, at least when I
can believe those nifty e-mails I get (and that on my age...).

Some of them even contain reduction coupons; do you want me to forward a
couple? It's a 50% discount!

Boohoo, I get to see it on color TV with Dolby Digital AC 5.1 surround (even
though it's in B&W w/ mono sound).

Here's a list of packages I'd like to see have the number of ebuilds
pruned down. If you're responsible for these, please use cvs rm -f
as appropriate. Don't forget the digests. Aim for 3-4 ebuilds or
better please.

glibc-2.3.2-r2.ebuild could go.

Yep, listed for completion.

Some of them have KEYWORDS="-*". That's just silly. It can be better.

21 and 30 is too high, even for gcc and binutils. They can be cleaned.

Yet Another German Dev!
You all don't fear the german conspiracy enough? Time will tell. :)

Welcome old man. Did you meet Pylon yet? He spends a lot of time in
Duesseldorf - ok, you can't really tell where in Europe he spends most
time, but I'd go for Duesseldorf.

You're right ;-)

No, I can't remember that I've met him already. But you
should mark the 4th of June in your calendar and attend the
GUM (Gentoo User Meeting) in Oberhausen. A lot of other
devs and users heading from the "Ruhrpott" will be there.

I'll take a look, but do remember that we have at least 5 different SLOTS
running, 10 is not that much for db
