Afaik the main intention was to keep it at 4 releases per year, although it does look like we're going to have 5 or 6 if we keep the current pace. Of course, if releasing is easy and not too stressful (i.e. just running catalyst once in a while on boxes that would otherwise be idling) this is no biggie :) I'm sure the (non-x86 mostly) release coördinators will be able to give a better perspective on this.
