Hi,
I'm working on a SuperServer build for dev-db/firebird. SuperServer is the
standalone daemon, while Classic (current build method) is the inet one.
Is there some USE flag which sets inet or daemon behavior ? euse -i lists
none.
Cheers

At one time I think we had an xinetd USE flag, but I'm not sure what
happened to that....
it would be nifty feature for builds to tag that as on/off and if on,
at least install a working xinetd.d/<foo> service.
This adds for more "out of the box" "things work" feeling

I think there was this whole discussion on this exact thing on -dev (?)
once and i think the general consensus back then was that it was not up
to Gentoo to provide optional support if it is not offered by the
upstream application itself or something. Someone dive into the archives
:)

i say if a developer cares or if a user submits the file go for it ...
