Let me add "quixote" (http://www.mems-exchange.org/software/quixote/) to
your list. I tend to think that PHP is a better language for small
projects, but I really like quixote for any project that craves the
power of python (for example, LWN is written for quixote).

Best,

I don't agree, many large projects are written with PHP, I'm sure you can find
many examples for it. LAMP skills are quite common (and I have to think about
others maintaining the code after me if needed), and I'm sure LAMP is/will be
installed on the servers -stats will be deployed on.

Anyway, there's nothing you can do with one lang which can be done with the
other for web devel (and PHP is designed for it). While python gives clear
advantage in the client side (portage), there's no such advantage on the
server side.

Those who want to follow the development, the modules are stored on gentoo's
cvs.

Server:
gentoo-src/gentoo-stats/server-ng

Client:
gentoo-src-gentoo-stats/client-ng

Cheers
