I can't remember exactly if it was this version but it seems likely, but I 
think I installed 1.1.2 and had a rather serious problem. It could not see or 
recognise any Java VM install. Hence it was totally useless. I downgraded and 
it was fine. I expect that was why it was removed.

Does anyone know the reason behind the big downgrade of java-config from 1.1.2 to 
0.2.8-r2? I took a peek in /usr/portage/dev-java/java-config and the ebuild for 1.1.2 is 
gone. What gives?

Well, 1.1.2 must have entered the tree only a few days ago because my /var/log/emerge.log 
shows me emerging it on 11/6. I run 'emerge -upDv world' every day. Although, 1.1.1 is 
missing from the tree also and I had that installed since 10/20 with no problems.

Aether should have solved that bug now as well as a couple of other
java-config bugs.

Strider and me are trying to solve the rest of the bugs right now :)

Anyway, java-config should be a lot better with the recent updates.

Hi --

In portage now should be java-config 1.1.4 and it sports fixes for many bugs 
(including the one that I think Andrew is describing -- bug #32611) and version 
1.1.5 is on it's way too :)
