Folks --
I have been asked more than once if I know of any companies that offer
official (paid) Gentoo support contracts. I know for a fact there is a
burgeoning demand out there, but so far, I haven't found any companies
providing such a service.
Does anyone know of a company that officially supports Gentoo Linux? Are
there any devs that are considering offering such a service as part of
their day job?
If so, can you please contact me off list so I can understand your plans,
etc. and perhaps pass along a few leads?

I had a discussion at LinuxTag (maybe tantive can remember
it, too) with somebody who wanted to offer Gentoo Linux
support. But first he wanted to clearify Gentoo's position
to official support. It's about half a year ago, when he
mailed to www@g.o but never got any response.
Sorry, but I can't remember the name nor any web-address for
further information. But maybe you can find something in
the www@-archive?
Regards, Lars

My company southern linux solutions provides just these type of
services. It's my bread and butter and what allows me to continue being
a dev.
What we do is migrate existing networks, configure, install, monitor,
maintain as well as train onsite staff in this area as well as large
scale wireless deployments.
I'm pretty sure that this cant be called official gentoo unless drobbins
were to partner with us. However I'm a dev and I officially support
Gentoo, and we would be happy to help in anyway we can.
At the same time I must point out that I don't let corporate desires
solely dictate what I maintain within Gentoo.
I'll fire you off a personal email with more details later Kurt on how
we would like to become at least partially Gentoo endorsed in our
efforts.
