Hello all,

I'm thinking to write a troubleshooting guide. I'm finding that most questions
in -user are asked prematurely. That is to say, the users are not researching
properly or attempting to troubleshoot the problem for themselves. Of course,
I'm aware that every distribution (and other operating system) has this
problem, but I think the answer is, essentially, to teach the users how to
learn.

So far, I've thought of the following sections:

A Research
A1 How to find documentation
A2 How to search the web
A3 How to search a forum/mailing list/knowledge base

B Troubleshooting
B1 Isolating the problem
B2 Working around a problem
B3 Fixing a problem

C Getting Help
C1 How to ask questions
C2 Where to ask questions

I know, not much yet. I'll begin a draft from my experience and then research
bad questions from -user to make it more useful in the real world.

What I'm looking for at the moment is other peoples tips on any of the above
sections. Please email me directly for the time being until I've put together
at least a first draft which can then be discussed on -doc.

Regards,
Jason
