Hello

Since many of my bugs have been sitting idle for some time I thought
I'd post to -dev and request some dev assistance. Below,
I've sorted my bugs by the action that needs to be taken to save you as
much time as possible.

Bugs to be closed immediately - 6
Bugs that are very quick to resolve - 3
Bugs that need new ebuild added (ebuilds available) - 2

If time permits only the bare minimum of work, I'd be grateful
if the bugs that need closing could be closed.

BUGS TO BE CLOSED

Title - ALSA 0.9.3 requires libaudio.so.2 symlink
Reason - Outdated bug with outdated version of alsa with no activity for
long.

(2) http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21335
Title - Piping/redirection in portage_2.0.48_pre6 gives errors
Reason - No longer a problem with new portage (.49).

(3) http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22089
Title - Portage autocleans & continues next emerge despite failures
Reason - Deceptive output led to bug being filed but as carpaski says this
is not a problem.

(4) http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26124
Title - Portage search traceback error
Reason - Cause of bug explained but no action to be taken so to be closed.

(5) http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26674
Title - Gentoolkit twins
Reason - Problem is now fixed locally and globally and cause explained.

(6) http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17883
Title - Mozilla 1.3 personal toolbar unusable
Reason - Tested with moz 1.4-r3 and this is no longer a problem.

BUGS THAT NEED EASY SPECIFIED ACTION AND QUICK TO RESOLVE

Methods of manipulating injected packages
Action: Add bit of code into qpkg/etcat or not but either way close anyway
as it does not seem that portage will inherit any more stub functionality.

Title - qpkg --help typos & corrections
Action: Simple typo & mistake corrections to qpkg, patch already available,
just apply it.

(9) http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23814
Title - Enhanced descriptions of all mozilla use flags
Action - Simply add new descriptions into use.local.desc and use.desc as
currently there are no descriptions for many of these use flags.

Action - Ebuild available; review and commit.

BUGS THAT ARE BEING WORKED UPON

Title - Daily Bug Reports Mailing List Creation
Action - I'm told this is being worked on so that's fine.  No action
needed.  This is to draw attention to a useful suggestion that has been idle
for some time.

By the way, are agenkin and satai away?  I have not heard anything on their
bugs for some time.

Many thanks for your time.  Please let me know if there's anything I
should have done differently in either filing the bugs or in alerting the
list to them here.

Hi Dhruba,

What I do sometimes in cases like this is put my analysis in the bug,
then reassign to bug-wranglers with a request to assign the bug to
another developer.  Just a suggestion...
