hello all, I have a qick question about the world file
is there a specific reason I cant just add packages to the end of my world
file. ( when I do and run emerge -puv world portage complaines that the
packages is not installed ).
basically what im trying to do is rsync my world files so that I will have
the same packages on four different systems
any ideas?
thanks,

Have you tried "emerge -puv $( cat /var/cache/edb/world )" instead of
"emerge -puv world"?

yea, thats what I did before, ( actually, 'cat /var/cache/edb/world |
xargs emerge -puv' but whatever )
I was just wondering why it is the way is.
there was also something that was anoying about doing it that way,
but I cant remember what it was now.
thanks anyway
