hi ...
I've had a few ebuilds that I've been working on and helping with that has just been closed or been standing open for a long time on bugs.gentoo.org
can anybody explain whats going on ?
It's a little discouraging to do work and see nothing of it.
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9181
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14415
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18281
I was unaware of the bugday or would have helped there as well.

lack of manpower == ebuilds sitting around ...
look at the bugs that bug-wranglers own ... theres a ton of new packages ...
we cant exactly tell developers 'hey, this package is now yours to maintain'

This one is currently in the RESOLVED FIXED state. Should it be
reopened?

Well, you've done the right thing by asking on gentoo-dev. I tell
people to submit their ebuilds to bugs.gentoo.org, then if nothing
happens for a couple weeks, then ask on gentoo-dev. Unfortunately it is
easy for bugs to go stale when a developer is busy with other things in
life.

Well, many bugs outlived bug day. Feel free to keep helping. :-)

FYI, a day has yet to go by that I've been able to scare enough people out of
#gentoo-bugs to get the number of people in there below 15. Also to be noted
I closed 9 bugs on the BugDay, and 10 since then thanks to the guys hanging
out in #gentoo-bugs.

Well .. the ebuild was done .. I heard nothing back from the developers about it .. then it's resolved and closed ?
Thats an bug for a new ebuild .. the ebuilds are done .. and not in portage .. so what has actually been resolved ?

I can understand this. I was hoping for at least some feedback which I got specifically with http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18281 which I know is a mess but I have not better clue on how to sort it out. I have had some responce on it already which is all I wanted so I can start working on fixing it again with some help.

I'm going to. I'm not very good at writing stuff from scratch (as you can see from nvsdk ebuild) but I'm pretty good at finding bugs and fixing other peoples work, so I'll keep doing that.

Hi
Just want to say that I have also created an ebuild that has been sitting
around on gentoo till I forgot I file a new bug. Saw this topic and hmm.....
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25029
If anyone wants to look at it, it will be great. As it is my first ebuild
contribution to gentoo!
