portmap seems to exist in a few profiles:
root@vapier 0 root # grep portmap /usr/portage/profiles/* -R
/usr/portage/profiles/default/packages:<net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-1.0/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-1.0-gcc3/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-1.0_rc6/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-ppc/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-ppc-1.0/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-ppc-1.0_rc6/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-ppc-1.4/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
/usr/portage/profiles/default-sparc64-1.0/packages:>=net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
anyone have issues with removing them from profile ?
the author is right ... i dont see a need for it in system ...
