cvs.gentoo.org is used for cvs.  dev.gentoo.org is used for hosting
developer shell accounts.  Previously, the two were combined which is why
you're seeing those broken links. (which will be fixed, btw)

www is used for, well, www stuff.  Not sure what else you're looking for.
