I've just committed a new ebuild for gawk-3.1.3, this version fixes
several rather close to critical bugs in gawk-3.1.2 and I would like to
have it marked stable for all arches (after some testing) before the 1.4
release.
Thanks

Isn't --enable-switch gonna be turned on?

As far as I can read, Arnold D. Robbins is just waiting for the 3.2 release to
put it in for real.
The pro, is that it will help awk programmers to get aquaninted with the
function, and of course to use that function instead of writing a ton on
else-if code.
On the other hand, it could brake code, if the coders have a user
defined switch function, but this (i hope) is quite unlikely.
Whould you like me to dig in to this matter a bit further?
>From the news file:
8. C-style switch statements are available, but must be enabled at
compile time via `configure --enable-switch'. For 3.2 they'll be
enabled by default. Thanks to Michael Benzinger for the initial
code.
Whould you like me to dig up on the why a little further?

Is there a good reason to turn it on or not to turn it on that I should
be aware of?
