Hi All,
I think the core devs seem to be in agreement about two proposals:
1. a "cgi" or "nocgi" flag to avoid installing optional cgi scripts in
certain packages. Further info here:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10536#c54
but add xawtv to that. Actually, this one I know one other core dev agrees. Waiting for input from you all.
2. A media-tv category for 10 or 11 tv-related apps, most of which currently sit in media-video but some are spread about the place:
media-video/nvrec
media-video/linuxtv-dvb
media-video/kwintv [ Masked ] Seems to be an active rewrite in progress for kde3
media-video/aatv [ Masked ] This looks dead.
media-video/nvtv
media-video/tvtime [ Masked ] Seems active.
x11-misc/nxtvepg (maybe)
media-video/xawtv
media-video/zapping
media-video/xawdecode
media-video/vcr
as well as mythtv in the above bug report; and hopefully freevo at some point as well.
I think the second issue (media-tv) is pretty much unanimous, as nobody has had any objections. The first issue requires some thoughts, though.

I agree that such a flag can be useful, I want to know a bit about its
behaviour though, does the flag specify that the script does not get
installed at all, or does it specify that it gets installed in a "safe"
location. I think the first option makes more sense.
