[gentoo-dev] Creating a LiveCD?

How do I go by creating a new LiveCD, particularly for people with the 3COM
3c990 Ethernet cards, like me?

I figure it should be as simple as compiling a kernel, compiling 3Com's
drivers against it and including it as a module.

Perhaps this could be put in the mainstream LiveCD? :) That'd be great.

Actually the kernel doesn't need to be recompiled... only the module.
