Well, isn't whoever emerges KDE (and thus has root perms) the admin of the= =20 box? So now he can do USE=3Dartswrappersuid instead of running chmod +s=20 manually. The important difference is that you can set the use flag once in= =20 make.conf and forget about it. In my experience, after emerging a new kde I= =20 usually forget to do the chmod manually, start the new kde, get a warning=20 about no realtime permissions, chmod and restart. =2D-=20 Dan Armak Gentoo Linux developer (KDE) Matan, Israel Public GPG key: http://cvs.gentoo.org/~danarmak/danarmak-gpg-public.key --Boundary-02=_ilex+hJBKLQvvLf Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Description: signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQA+xeliUI2RQ41fiVERApUKAJwKpoYhvWdPjdHuXJFs3tNVcMkxOQCdHKYY gsUtVeIKEUIdGX2PliEa3nU= =0grQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Boundary-02=_ilex+hJBKLQvvLf--
