Just a quick note, I've added 'mcal' to the global USE flags. The
package is dev-libs/mcal. Initial packages to support it are PHP (in the
new eclass to be released shortly) and Horde (when somebody adds it in
there). There are also a number of other calendering applications on the
web that support and require it that can now be added as/when needed. 

Somebody mentioned that mcal is also used for integration with the .Mac system, but I haven't seen anything to ever confirm that.
