[gentoo-dev] foomatic : compilation failed / Cups and LaserJet IIIp

Hi !

I'm trying to set up my LaserJet IIIp with cups & foomatic,
but it seems the IIIp isn't supported by foomatic. Am i right ?

anyway, when merging foomatic, it fails with the following error :

I also tried cups + HP-LaserJet_3P-omni.ppd but gs complains that
it can't load libomni.so
Maybe i have to write an ebuild for omni, which seems to miss for now ?

Has anybody been sucessfull in setting up such printer  ?

Try Foomatic 2.0.2 - that's working on my system.

Yep, using CUPS 1.1.18-r4 with the "HP LaserJet Series CUPS v1.1 (en)" 
driver for fast spooling and crisper text output, and with the "HP 
LaserJet II Series, CUPS+Gimp-print v4.3.5 (en)" for smoother graphics 
output.
