[gentoo-dev] devfs and latest kernels ...

Hi all 

busy playing with the latest kernels .. 

things are begginning to break on my side due to devfs 
Had to change stuff in fstab for mounting to work correctly 
and now need to change inittab to get terminals working correctly.

/dev/hdx changed to /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0

which I got working with fstab and drives .. 

/dev/tty changed to /dev/pty/

but I cannot get this working .. not 100% sure how the 
terminals work ... 

can anybody give me some pointers ?

correct line is 

c1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 vc/1 linux

I do suggest we start looking at moving this accross in the inittab and fstab 
since devfs is now required for gentoo to work correctly ..

you might want to have a look at devfsd and the compatibility device 
feature.
