Hello !

I'm trying to buil a new gentoo box, but as said in the subjet, the
bootstrap step failed with the following message :
* Portage patch requested, but failed to apply!

I suppose it's a gcc patch, since it's the bigger directory in /var/tmp/portage :
# cd /var/tmp/portage
# du -s *
64	baselayout-1.8.4.1
16	binutils-2.13.90.0.4
164820	gcc-3.2-r1
8	gettext-0.11.5
8	libtool-1.4.1-r10
72	portage-2.0.43
8	texinfo-4.2-r5
8	zlib-1.1.4

I'm using stage 1.4-rc1 stage from
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/releases/1.4_rc1/x86/stage1-x86-1.4_rc1-20020908-1208.tar.bz2

Maybe someone is working on it ?

Hello !

I've had a closer look at the first gcc compilation, and it seems
the pb comes from the 'patch' command. When i simply type 'patch',
all what i got is 'Illegal instruction' !
I have a msi k7d master mother board, with 2 athlon mp, and i'm
compiling for i686 (i didn't change anything in make.conf).
So i'm a little bit surprised...

Any idea about this ?
