Maybe I am missing something obvious, but is there anyway to get and
update one's own copy of gentoo-src? either rsync or cvs would be
fine, but having to go through webcvs is extremely inconvenient
(especially since I don't yet know my way around it well, so I end up
having to click myself from one end of the webcvs to the other).
Cheers,

anoncvs has been killed due to the fact that it killed cvs speeds :)

I can see that "emerge rsync" should not use cvs to update a user's
portage tree (given the large user-base and the uneconomical cvs
protocol)... but does anoncvs have to be turned off entirely? if yes,
can't anything else be done (e.g. also rsyncing the gentoo-src part)?
Sorry for being such a pain; blame it on Gentoo being too fascinating
for its own good :-)
Cheers,

I'm sure somebody will be more then happy to mirror the CVS for anon use somewhere so that it does not effect the developers .. and anon has access to CVS
