Projects that are trying to be popular:

 Java
 RedHat
 SuSe
 anything Microsoft

Projects that couldn't care less if they were popular:

 Gentoo
 Perl
 Clisp
 Python
 Debian

I don't know why, but I tend to be attracted to projects that are not
trying to be popular.
