Hi Shanon

You can really help by taking a look at the existing bugs. I was going to
point you to bugs.gentoo.org, but I see you already know about it. To see
unassigned bugs just query for "bug-wranglers" in "assigned to" field.
(create special query if you do this often).

You can similarly search for your topics of interest and propose your help to
the assignee of the bug you got interested in. Most of us have tons of bugs
assigned and quite a few of non-crytical ones typically sit waiting to be
handled. I am sure nobody will object to you proposal to test and clean-up a
new submission for example.

Another area where you can help is testing. If you are interested in this you
can announce your intention here and on #gentoo channel on
irs.openprojects.net. You should probably also get in touch with Damon Conway
<kabau@gentoo.org> (who recently announced an intention to do regular QA
testing) or Seemant Kulleen <seemant@gentoo.org> (who is our general
"workforce" coordinator, hi Seemant ;)). You can talk to them on #gentoo
directly.
Independently of this you can talk to Seemant on #gentoo, hi may suggest the
areas where your help is the most appreciated.

George
