This file gets written by the hw= clock=20 utility and is supposed to help in autoadjusting your hardware clock to t= he=20 real time (clocks are never entirely correct). Also (as I posted earlier)= =20 using rdate (or ntpdate for that matter) not at boot breaks things. Speci= ally=20 with cron as it's whole time system gets confused.
