OK, I have pretty much rebuilt my system with 3.1 now, but for a few
issues which seem to have been mentioned before. However, I have not
seen any reference to the following problem:

I have no makeinfo or install-info commands. From other people using
qpkg, I found out that these should both belong to gcc. So I figured a
remerge of gcc might help... nope, still don't have the commands.

I have unmerged both 3.1 and 2.95, keeping only 3.1-r1.

Any help appreciated.

Alex.
(Praying the power doesn't cut before I can recompile util-linux so I
can use login without it segfaulting)

makeinfo and install-info are both in texinfo, version 4.2 is in portage
but I had it masked since it depends on new automake and autoconf.

Is there a new m4 on the way so that autoconf and automake will build?
When I try and build them it gives an error on "Requires m4 version 1.4"
and m4 --version gives 1.4ppre2. or is this masked somewhere too?

Alex.

I got the sames errors.
autoconf/automake is the only thing that not compiles in emerge systme except
the last perl, but previous did.

When will xfree compile with gcc3 ? a few days, a week , ... ?
