I've been thinking about registering gentoo.fr to do the same kind of stuff as
I can get free hosting. How much does it cost to get a .it ? (in Euros per
year)

Are you working from the html files off the site or did you get an up to date
xml document to work from (i'm looking for it)

Steph

Dear gentoomians,

we have recently uncovered your interesting project for a fast, free and
clever Linux distribution.

We are enthusiastic after some installation on our machines, so we'd like
to do something to contribute its diffusion in Italy (mail/web servers,
clusters, numerical workstations).

Why not to open a MIRROR site in Italy???

First of all we moved to register the eventual italian free domain as:
WWW.GENTOO.IT !!!

And we started the italian translation of the following documents:

Installation instructions;
Desktop Configuration Guide;
The new Portage manual;

Let us know if you agree the idea!

With the best regards,

Massimo Lucci, Nuclear Margnetic Resonance Responsable
Enrico Morelli, 	System Administrator Responsable

Good idea!

Me and a few others started a similar thing on gentoo.dk have a look
we try to keep the Gentoo spirit and the entire site is created in
Gentoo Guides. It's all in danish, but you should get the idea.

That was http://gentoo.dk/ and we are still polishing the
design so please report errors as you find them. The big guides will
be translated shortly, and we are adding other stuff like i18n og
Gentoo and other guides and articles..

See ya,

Problem with some French laws is that you need to be living in France to
register a .fr domain, and this is not my case.

I'll anyway begin a frlinux.net/gentoo which is my domain, we'll see where we
go from there.

Where ?

Steph

Have someone in france listed as owner, this cannot be a problem.

gentoo-web/xml/* in this http://www.gentoo.org/projects/guide-xml-latest.tar.gz

It seems you found some of it, or are your pages plain html?

Cheers,
