hello all,
Just wanted you to know that the recent libxml2 headers-include bug is "in progress" and I'm going to get it all working as soon as my slow newtowrk allows me to :)

Could somone who's into perl coding, please check out dev-perl/XML-LibXML and see if they can find just -why- this package breaks? I'm not a perl coder and I didnt find any obvious solution to it.

if this doesnt get fixed I'll mask it sometimes tue or wednesday.

left to check are:
kdelibs, php, abiword, all fairly big downloads. Hopefully I'll get it done during monday.

XML::LibXML-0.91-r1 is on portage, XML::LibXML-1.40 is on CPAN. :-)

I've made ebuild for 1.40, but it depends on dev-perl/XML-SAX 0.10, and that
again depends on dev-perl/XML-NamespaceSupport 1.04, both not in portage yet.
AFAIK, no new packages will be accepted, so I really don't know what to do
with it .. :)

Tell me where to send it.. :)

Just some thoughts. I have two boxes here. Both have the latest
libxml, libxml2 and libxslt. The one compile scrollkeeper fine, as well
as nautilus. The other do not compile nautilus .... quit with libxml/
libxml2 headers not found.

I think it is something other than libxml[12] that is causing things to
break.

Okies, Mail them to me :)

I'll mask XML-LibXML 0.91 until release of 1.0, and then fix up the others to work, unless somone has problems and acutely needs XML-LibXML for gentoo 1.0 :)

now this is interesting, What version of nautilus? (stable version 1.0.6 or what it is?) Could you please give me the logs of the whole thing and I'll try and look at it?

ebuild --debug nautilus-x.x.x.ebuild compile > /tmp/nautilus1.log 2>&1
ebuild --debug nautilus-x.x.x.ebuild compile > /tmp/nautilus2.log 2>&1

also.. check the mozilla versions, nautilus relies on mozilla to compile and requires a specific version... broken but that's because of the mozilla view is used for html rendering, and mozilla pre 1.0 changes the interface api all the time.

Cannot now, but remember when I updated them, I told you the doc
locations had to be fixed anyhow ? Well, just after I updated them,
I rebuild a whole system with them, the latest mozilla and nautilus.

So, meaning with the current libxml and libxml2 on cvs, things build.
This means that something else must have broke, because I updated some
stuff (other people's updates), and nautilus broke with libxml include
error (I remerged mozilla 0.9.9-r1 and nautilus-1.0.6-r? to see if I
could.get the mozilla header errors some people got).

Ill get specifics when I get home.

note that my changes are to the packages that depend on libxml2 and not to libxml2, libxml2 should not be updated to support a broeken way of using it..

I can't install mozilla now because of diskspace issues :/

Please do.
