Subject: [gentoo-dev] jdk
Date: Tue, 12 Mar 2002 13:20:03 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20020312132003.D27394@matrix.netsoc.tcd.ie> (raw)

I noticed that there are 2 jdk's.
1 in dev-lang maintained by Achim Gottinger <achim@gentoo.org>
and
1 in dev-java (also blackdown) maintained by Karl Trygve Kalleberg
<karltk@gentoo.org>

the second in dev-java seems to be cleaner, e.g. has PROVIDE tags, and
also sets the env.-variables right.

But "emerge jdk" will take the first 1.

Is there a reason for maintaining the same program twice?

christian
