galeon seems to be one of the more fragile installs. I've finally
gotten 1.0 working. Has anyone actually tried the 1.0.1 ebuild, and
does it go in without breaking things?

TIA

The only real problem I've had is that the blackdown java plugin as well
as the flash plugin (both commercial sw) do not use ESD.

ESD is started time and again by galeon, even if I do not have "use esd"
in make.conf.

I still miss a "dontuse" feature ;)

And ESD should be terminated. Permanently ;p

I have been using galeon for about 3 weeks now. 1.0.1 works well enough
for me except for two glitches that were present with 1.0 as well. The
spinners don't show on the toolbar and I cannot get an alternet download
application to work.
