Not directly out of the box.  You would have to recompile the kernel and
choose the proper options in the ide devices section.  Kernel's post 2.4.7
have support for both promise fasttrack and the highppoint controllers (I
have the fasstrack, and the drivers work better than the binary ones from
promise).  Dunno if you can get them to hold / and boot directly off them.

If you want support directly out of the box, you'd have to swap out the
kernel in either the iso, boot flooppies, or your current linux installation
(if you have one) which you would chroot from.

The HPT370 will be recognized as an ATA/66 IDE controller, but will work
fine.  When you install the proper drivers, it will run at ATA/100.
