Dear Gentooers,
I am about to of install RC6-r9 from a tbz2 build. I am doing it over a 56k
dialup (please do not laugh).
What I try to do is to download the needed sources at work, then put these
files to /usr/portage/distfiles after I chroot to the build. Emerge rsync is
reasonable even over a dialup). I know the files for bootstrap from the
install-docs (gettext, glibc, binutils, gcc).
My question is: How can I get the list of source files I need for doing an
emerge system (apart from doing an emerge --pretend system, because to do this
I have to be in the middle of the install for 2-3 days, given that I can only
use free dialup at night).
Just a vage list of files or a pointer to them would be very helpful for me to
use to set up the base system...
Thanks : VIktor

Take a look at /usr/portge/profiles/default-1.0_rc6/packages.
The packages with a * are system packages. I am not sure whether all
dependenceds are accounted for, though. I rather doubt it.

Are you aware of emerge --fetchonly? My solution to the 56k problem has been to march over to somewhere there's a faster line and do an emerge --fetchonly packagename to grab all the source, then go back home and let it build for ever and ever...
