A couple of questions.
1. The runlevel 5 scripts appear to be broken. When I do telinit 5
from runlevel 3, xinetd and eth0 are stopped, but eth0 never restarts
- hang at the attempt to start xinetd.
2. If #1 is not the problem, what else do I need to do to start kde
from runlevel 5?
TIA,

Is this Gentoo rc5 or rc6? in rc6, there is no difference between run
level 3 and runlevel 5, unless you created a profile for a new runlevel
(see /etc/runlevels).

Ideally, getting a graphical login manager on boot should only
require making a link from /etc/init.d/xdm to
/etc/runlevels/default/xdm, but the xdm init script is broken right now.

Read my signature - rc6. Even if the scrips are identical, the
behavior is broken when switching runlevels.

So, when might the xdm init script become unbroken?
