[gentoo-dev] virtual/glu: x11-base/xfree-4.1.0-r2, x11-libs/gtkglarea-1.2.2

x11-libs/gtkglarea-1.2.2 depends on libGLU specifically, but the ebuild
claims to depend on virtual/glu.  This would be fine, except that the
x11-base/xfree-4.1.0-r2 ebuild claims to provide virtual/glu but does
not provide a libGLU.

This means that if xfree is installed but media-libs/mesa-glu is not,
and you do 'emerge x11-libs/gtkglare', portage will go ahead and try,
but the configure will fail.

So, should xfree be changed to not provide virtual/glu, or is there
something else going on?

Yes, xfree should be fixed.  Previous versions of xfree were configured
to build their included libGLU, but we turned this off and forgot to
fix the dependencies.
