Hi all,
Installing from tbz and having problems. When I tried the first
emerge rsync it appeared to work . But bootstrap got the following error.
AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'has_key'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<string>", line 1, in ?
File "/usr/lib/python2.0/portage.py", line 375, in __getitem__
if x.has_key(mykey):

option.
!!! Error: >=sys-apps/baselayout-1.6.2 does not exist or is an invalid command-l
ine option.i
Now if I try emerge rsync I get this:
[/usr/portage]:[/usr/portage]: emerge rsync
!!! Invalid token (not "=") python
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/sbin/emerge", line 212, in ?
if not portage.settings.has_key("MAINTAINER"):
File "/usr/lib/python2.0/portage.py", line 385, in has_key
if x.has_key(mykey):
AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'has_key'
I'm still in the chroot environment.
Is there something I missed in the instructions?
Thanks in advance,
Patrick

Sounds like a typo in /etc/make.conf

BTW, please only post your questions in one of gentoo-user/gentoo-dev
(in this case, gentoo-user was appropriate). These lists get over 100
messages a day already and don't need that inflated because of dual-posting
