Subject: [gentoo-dev] Problem booting...=(
Date: Fri Sep 7 23:41:01 2001 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <200109080539.f885dua01015@westbyserver.mwt.net> (raw)
GURB works great...but when I tries to mount the partition that has the root
filesystems on it it kernel panics...
Request_module[IDE-Disk]: Root fs not mounted
hda: driver not present
VFS: cannot open root device "hda4"
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS unable to mount root fs on hda4
I checked my grub options and I do have a "root=/dev/hda4"
after "kernel /boot/bzImage". What can I do? It will boot fine if I boot the
CD and type "linux root=/dev/hda4". Thanks in advance!
Chad
