hi !
recently i did - well tried - an emerge --fetchonly update.
until now i was using prozilla for fetching, but that regularly
crashes - segmentation fault - on devfsd and wget-new-precentage-*diff.
the system always claimed "wrong md5".
switched back to wget - no probs.
anyone encountered the same problem ?
thanks and ciao
peter

can u give a few more details like which version, what use flags did u use for compilation tc. cause this is the only way we can try tpo figure out the problem. afaik it has no bugs reported of this kind till now.

sorry, here we go: it's prozilla-1.3.5.2
my use flags are attached.
my c/cxx flags are: -mcpu=i686 -march=i686 -O3 -pipe
CHOST is i686-pc-linux-gnu
my cpu is a celeron 500 (Mendocino)
btw, prozilla runs fine except on these two downloads.

AFAIK, celeron is not catogirzed under an i686. well since it is pretty specific to those 2 downloads i think u can mail them to the prozilla ml.
but before that if u can just recompile with the i586 options na dcheck this downloads it would be pretty much advisable and worth a try.
if still that doesn't work u can try upgrading it to 1.3.6
best regards

It actually is since it has the same core as the Pentium II.

it is, once upon a time i compiled (under rock) for i586
the kernel definitely was a desaster ;-)

Hi!
Just wanted to confirm this bug. I have experienced the same problems.
Aside: The --fetchonly flag is a godsend for those on dialup connections.
Thank you.

is it on a celeron machine ?
was it for the same files for which peter had a problem or for any file in general ?
best regards

Hi!

No. It happens on both a PII and an Athlon. The the compile opts are the
standard gentoo ones in make.conf for i686.
>
> was it for the same files for which peter had a problem or for any file in
general ?
No. My main problem was with the ext3 patch? (don't remember the exact file
name) that is part of the linux-headers download when doing a emerge --
fetchonly update. prozilla would seem to download the file fine but instead of
moving on, would try to re-download the same file from another mirror site. It
would notice that it had already attempted the download and ask the Abort,
Resume, Overwrite question. It would then bomb regardless of which option wa
chosen. I eventually just downloaded the file manually with lynx and then
emerge --fetchonly update completed fine.
Unfortunately, I don't have acces to these machines at the moment or I would
give you some more specific info, i.e. prozilla version, etc.
