but i already built it! All the files and information about the files that
were built/installed is there... why can't I make a package from it? I, for
one, think it would be a useful feature.

anyway, is there more to a gentoo tbz2 binary package than just the files
and the info that would go in /var/db/pkg? I did a quick check of the
portage user guide and the faq and found no mention of it.
