Basically do rsync -avz rsync://cvs.gentoo.org/gentoo-x86-portage/* /usr/portage It doesn't affect already installed packages in any way whatsoever. All it does it update your portage area. Then you can do ebuilds or whatever and update whatever packages you want to update. Justus
