Here's a message that was sent to my personal mailbox and I'm reposting
it here. Can someone help?

Best Regards,

Daniel

Thanks for your reply. I have successfully used ebuild and install 90 files.
Very impressed with the result.
I would appreciate your advice re the following:
media-libs/libgd-1.8.3-r1.ebuild and media-libs/libgd-1.8.3-r2.ebuild.
The r2 file fails as it does not have a matching digest file. The r1 file
fails:
#ebuild libgd-1.8.3-r1.ebuild merge
error: gdttf.c:21: freetype.h : No such file or directory.
Previously installed freetype-2.0.1-r1.ebuild.
Found: using find:
/usr/X11R6/include/freetype2/freetype/freetype.h
/usr/include/freetype2/freetype/freetype.h
The r1 file I think was using /usr/include/freetype/freetype.h. However
altering paths caused more problems.
libgd is a dependency of dev-lang/php-4/php-4.0.4.ebuild which is the real
target for me.
This is the only problem I have had in 90 downloads. Great stuff really.
Can you help? I have been to the www.boutell.com site and see that versions
1.8.4 and 2.0.1 beta are now available but this wont help with ebuild.
freetype is still at version 2.0.1.

Regards,
Kevin Gordon

You can create the digest with the command

ebuild libgd-1.8.3-r2.ebuild digest

I'll upload one now.

You must install freetype-1.3 for libgd. emerge uses the latest
avaliable
so it installs freetype-2, but this version is incompatible to 1.3.
Both can be installed on the same machine without interefering.
Future version of emerge will be able to handle those problems.
Thank you for the report,

achim~
