Subject: [gentoo-dev] X11 dependencies
Date: Tue Feb 20 14:15:01 2001	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20010220141409.A18923@cvs.gentoo.org> (raw)

Hi,

I was wondering, perhaps we should make XFree86 provide virtual/x11,
and then make packages that just require x11 depend on
virtual/x11. That way, if one day gentoo is supported on platforms
that dont use xfree86 (like just the regular X consortium version) we
won't have to change a bunch of other stuff. Other packages that
require XFree86 extensions (like DRI or whatnot) could depend on
Xfree86 specifically. What do you think?

Pete
