Hi,

I just added svgalib-1.4.2 to dev-libs. Looks like it compiles fine,
but I dont have any programs to test it w/ just yet.

svgalib was a missing link. :-)
I'm currently reworking media-libs over here. Don't you think that is
the place for svgalib?
It is mostly used by media-libs even if it is no media-libs itself so I
think it should move.
I added libgii/libggi to media-libs and a lot of triggers to USE ( X
fbcon aalib svga ggi )
I updated mesa to build backends for svgalib or ggi-fbdev.
All these things will be commited soon.

I don't really think so... svgalib doesn't handle any kind of media
format or anything like that. It just lets you use the graphics modes
allowed by your video card. There's a lot of stuff you can use svgalib
for, not just games. I think maybe we could make a new category, like
gfx-libs, for stuff like svgalib, ggi, mesa3d, etc.

Yes that is a good idea but we wait till we have released rc4. After that
sys-* categories can
be removed too.

Right now, the correct location for svgalib is in media-libs.  "media" is our
generic term to classify things that are audio-video or "multimedia" related,
since there are so many things that have both audio and video components.  You
don't need to handle a media format to be in media-libs.
