I agree with you bad, sadly, spec states it's a sub-category:
http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/apa.html

and, for now, we need to use "Education,Science" if we don't want to see
that menu entries showing up in "Others" menu :-(.

This bug is interesting, but I don't think it will be fixed soon :-/
