I am briefly responding to two of Stuart's points just to try to cut off further attempts to recall history. The procedure turned out to be very hard to implement in practice, and I accept responsibility for some of the difficulties. However, we (devrel) did use it successfully with results as Stuart remembers. Since then, we have examined the conflict resolution policy pretty carefully, and policy is under revision. I do not believe the revised policy is posted yet, but if we ever need to use such a process again, it should move fairly but more quickly. =20 > Best regards, > Stu > -- > PS: Isn't it fascinating how different folks can live through the same > events, but end up with different perspectives on it? :) >=20 Regards, Ferris --=20 Ferris McCormick (P44646, MI) Developer, Gentoo Linux (Devrel, Sparc) --=-R3BCyu8IhsXzHh5wRI6Z Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.4-ecc0.1.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBE7cIhQa6M3+I///cRAvyBAJ9k5x76iIp8WDSaUmxh0lUHf1nP3ACdFfAy S3YcCVRa+2jhiwLTpYQnvkI= =nkVg -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-R3BCyu8IhsXzHh5wRI6Z-- -- gentoo-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
