Anyone have the source for the package aging list?
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.gentoo.devel/23231
Maybe we can find a new server to run it on?

I have no problem hosting this on our servers officially somewhere, just
need to find the code or rewrite it as you said.

The script is a /great/ idea!
However, there was a problem with the implementation of that version. I
don't understand the specifics (something about portage not containing
the necessary data in an easily accessed format), but the effect was that
the top ten list was of little practical use at all, because all ten slots
were always filled with entries for packages that it said had been ~amd64
(or some other non-x86 arch) for longer than Gentoo amd64 has been around,
when the ~amd64 keyword might have just been added. Since there were
always more than ten packages that fit in this category, with extremely
long times at ~arch according to the script, nothing else was ever listed,
and the top-ten list as posted at least, was of no practical use.
The issue was never resolved, but if it could be, either by fixing it or
by eliminating that criteria from the list of things it checked for if
resolving the issue itself was too difficult, the script could be very
useful.

A while back, I worked on a simple MySQL-based system for tracking
keyword changes. A quickly-thrown-together front-end[1] to the
database has been available (albeit unannounced). Please note that
this was not scheduled for release anytime and was strictly intended
for myself (and Lina AKA j4rg0n, of course) -- a personal-use-only
kind of setup. Nonetheless, I'm willing to spend more time on it to
flesh it out (with input, of course). Since I haven't kept up to date
with it -- what with work and Real Life(tm) and all lately, the
database may be a bit out of whack. And again, the front-end is far
from finished (more of just a test to explore what might be done with
the data). I do intend on maintaining it at least enough to keep it
usable for myself and Lina, so if there's enough interest, I'd be
happy to expand it to meet the entire community's needs.
As an aside, the problems mentioned on this thread about the old
script that used to send those top-10 e-mails to -dev are not (afaik)
an issue with my implementation.
If this is of any interest to anyone out there, let me know. As
always, I'm open to discussion and suggestions.

Great, thats just about what I'm looking for. I wasn't as interested in
the repoman top 10 stuff. Mainly I want to be able to search by the
herds I'm in to get a quick glance at anything stuck at ~arch for
>30 days.

What was useful for me wasn't the topten feature at all, rather it was the
list of packages browsable by herd and architecture. It allowed one to keep a
nice overview of maintained packages.
