All-

I'd like to welcome a new developer, Homer Parker(hparker). Homer comes
from Russell, Kansas, where he runs a WISP. He lives there with his
wife, and whatever kid(s) happen to be home. Homer likes to work on his
old cars and bikes(a '73 Road Runner and a '74 Triumph Bonnie 750 on an
8' custom frame).

hparker will be joining the amd64 team, where he has been helping lead
our AT project.

Please join me in welcoming him to the team.

Heh, since this being sent out almost 18 hours ago I can't see any
replies offering congratulations or welcoming Homer to the team! Are we
all so caught up with other stuff that a moment isn't spared to greet
someone new and make some funny/sarcastic remarks?!?

>From me at least, welcome to the team. Yet another slave joins the noble
ranks of Gentoo/AMD64 - we hope you'll be around a long time, and ...
one thing ... just don't break anything :D

Well, hparker definitely has my vote for "fastest CD+RW in the west". I
know I've been keeping him busy with stuff to test.

Welcome to the team. We'll have you working on the release next time
around. You'll love it, I promise. No really. Don't listen to
Kugelfang, he's just kidding when he says he wants to stab out his eyes
every time he thinks about catalyst.

Break anything?!?! That would first require me to _do_ something :D
Anyways, thanks for the welcome... Now to go do something <EG>

You could start by unsubscribing to the list and resubscribing under
your new @gentoo.org address...

Homer,
~ You should know better than to humor Chris. First you change your
email to suit him, next thing you know, you are committing to new
LiveCDs and release schedules. No good can ever come of it :-)

Don't let him fool you, release engineering is the closest form of
legalized torture yet invented by the cruel minds of this world. He's
only trying to recruit you in a vain effort to lessen his own pain -
saying that however, he'll probably get you anyway, then come after me
for telling the truth to the world ;-)

Woa, Another dev from Kansas! :-D Too bad you live in real BFE ;) At

I'm in Hiawatha, in the far north east corner... where we actually have
towns 15 miles apart instead of 30+ like you ;)
