hi guys!

fist i have to admid that i am really impressed by your work!!

Nothing the less i'd like to suggest dmaid support in the offical LiveCDs and a
ebuild for dmraid (i can do 'emerge dev-mapper' but not 'emerge dmraid')

The HOW-TOs i found by using search engines, searching your archives and
searching forums aren't so cool. I've spent MANY hours, not to say DAYS with it.
i'd appreciate an easier approach. I also would like to help -- with my
restricted knowledge. maybe testing?

ciao, nico.

I use dmraid, but then I have my / on ISW, so I got it to link against
klibc with much issues, and have it in initramfs. I guess I could add
it, but I cannot really do much testing besides see that it compiles and
install in the correct place.

Can say I can really help here - I learnt the hard way, and are in no
way a docs writer.

Martin,

The latest genkernel will allow you to create an initrd with dmraid support.

You will need to do an alternate style install until this support catches up with the livecd.

genkernel --help will show you the option required for including dmraid.

This support is very experimental and has not been fully tested yet.
